Located in the Gambier Islands, 1590 km southeast of Tahiti, Mangareva is home to the archipelago's administrative capital, the village of Rikitea. Mangareva has a total land area of 15.4 km2. The highest points are Mount Duff at 441m and Mount Mokoto at 423m. The island and its marine environment are home to a rich, well-preserved biodiversity. Nicknamed -the little-known pearl-, Mangareva also offers sumptuous landscapes in an atmosphere of local culture and serenity.
